Cookie cutter STL maker

Make a cookie cutter STL from any drawing

Drop in a picture and CerdafiedStudio traces the outline and builds a 3D-printable cookie cutter: a sharp cutting edge, a sturdy grip and the exact size you choose. No 3D modelling needed.

How it works

  1. Drop in your drawing

A PNG, JPG or WebP up to 2 MB. Several cookies in one picture become a set.

  2. Set the size

Type the width in inches or mm (0.5 to 8 in) and turn the cutter around in 3D.

  3. Download the STL

Print it base down. The file is already mirrored for pressing into dough.

A cutter shape made for dough

Every cutter has one flush inside wall, so the cookie releases cleanly, and its supporting ridges on the outside: a 4 mm grip at the base, a 1.5 mm ridge, then a 0.8 mm cutting wall that tapers to a 0.6 mm edge. It stands 16 mm tall.

Want something different? Advanced settings change the base width (4 to 6 mm), base height (1 to 5 mm), cutting section (2 to 8 mm) and total height (up to 25.4 mm), and you see the change in 3D straight away.

More than an outline

  • Put a name on the outside wall of the cutter
  • Plan how your baked cookies fit in a box before you print
  • Draw a cutter from scratch, or trace a photo, in the Create studio
  • Resize a cookie cutter STL you already have

Questions

What pictures work best?

A clear outline on a plain background: a coloring page, clip art, a logo or a child's drawing. Dark lines on white trace most reliably. The outer edge of each shape becomes the cutting edge.

What size will my cookie cutter be?

Size is the longest side of the cutting opening, inside edge to inside edge. Choose anything from 0.5 to 8 inches; the proportions stay locked so the shape never stretches.

Do I need to mirror the STL?

No. Files are already mirrored for pressing into dough and set in print orientation, grip on the bed, so your cookie comes out the same way round as your drawing.

Is it free?

Making and previewing a cutter is free, with no account. Downloading a single cutter needs a free account. Free members also get 3 set downloads, 3 named cutters and 3 box plans every 30 days; Premium ($12.99 a month or $99 a year) makes those unlimited.

How should I print it?

Most bakers print cookie cutters in PLA or PETG at 0.2 mm layers, base down, with no supports. Check that your filament is sold as food-contact safe, wash cutters by hand in warm (not hot) water, and keep them out of the dishwasher.
